Kohima Police destroy narcotics worth Rs 44.53 crore

In a significant move against drug trafficking, Kohima police destroyed narcotics valued at over Rs 44.53 crore on September 26. The Drug Disposal Committee, under the Inspector General of Police (CID), oversaw the destruction of large quantities of seized narcotics at the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) dumping site in Meriema. The seized substances included 500 soap cases of heroin weighing 5.73 kg, 41 kg of opium packed in 44 packets, and 2,49,400 Yaba tablets. Army orders Court of Inquiry into Nagaland civilian killings

Indian Army has instituted a Court of Inquiry to investigate the Nagaland civilian killings under a Major General-rank officer, news agency ANI reported while quoting Army sources.
