Oral health awareness camp at Tikenvong: Nagaland

With an aim to spread awareness about oral health hygiene, a one-day oral health awareness camp was held on February 27, at Tikenvong village under Pungro block, Kiphire district. In a press release CMO office, district media officer Haichikambe Pame stated that the oral health camp was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Weri Mero, dental surgeon from Pungro CHC. BJP to hold big rallies in Assam

The BJP will hold fewer rallies in poll-bound Assam as compared to West Bengal, which is also slated to go to the polls in March-April. The BJP is planning to organise just around a dozen big election rallies of senior leaders, including rallies by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Irked by Manipur government’s delay in holding elections to the autonomous district councils (ADCs), tribal bodies have threatened to launch intense forms of agitations. Barely a day after All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) set a March 11 deadline to issue notification for the elections, Chairmen Forum of Six ADCs Manipur on Saturday demanded that the schedule for the elections should be announced within a week’s time. Timber smuggler shot dead in East Karbi Anglong

In a major development, a suspected timber smuggler has been shot dead by a team of forest department officials under Silonijan Range in East Karbi Anglong on Thursday. As per reports, the team of forest department officials confronted a group of timber smuggler inside the Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary and demanded that they surrender. Newspapers in Manipur failed to hit the stands for the second consecutive day on Friday as journalists continued their cease work strike against threat by armed rebel groups. News broadcasting by local cable networks also remained suspended.
