National workshop on ‘economic livelihood’: Nagaland

Zisaji Presidency College (ZPC), Kiphire organised two-day national workshop on “economic livelihood of youth” on February 25 and 26. The workshop programme was sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. WB sanctions Rs. 1100 crore for Meghalaya Integrated Transport Project

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Wednesday informed that the World Bank has sanctioned Rs. 1100 Crore for the Meghalaya Integrated Transport Project.  The Chief Minister who laid the foundation stone for this strategic 20.853 Km road at Dalu in West Garo Hills district on Wednesday, said that under the Meghalaya Integrated Transport Project, an amount of over Rs. 43 Crore has been sanctioned for the upgradation and improvement of the parallel road to the existing Dalu-Baghmara road. Cop hurt in clash with protesters in Manipur

A policeman was injured in a clash with protesters staging a protests defying curfew imposed in an area in Imphal on Tuesday. Police had to resort to firing tear gas shells to bring the situation under control. Tensions were running high at Kakwa Naorem Leikai locality under Singjamei police station of Imphal West district where a teenager boy was killed and as many as seven people were injured after shots were fired from a house amid a quarrel over a land dispute on February 27 night. Load shedding in Meghalaya due to non-payment of dues

The Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) has imposed the load shedding from Tuesday across the State due to a “fund crunch” in the power department or probably caused by extraneous issues. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma chaired an emergent meeting with his cabinet ministers, Chief Secretary M.S.Rao and senior government officials to discuss the sudden imposition of loadshedding, 13 days ago after the government had lifted it.
