Northeast’s expanding literary economy on display as Byatikram Group launches five books by Dr. Seema Kashyap

The growing influence of the cultural and literary economy in Guwahati was reflected at a major book launch event organised by the Byatikram Group, where five books by author Dr. Seema Kashyap were unveiled before an audience comprising leading figures from academia, literature, media and the entertainment sector.

The books — “Shunya Theke Shikhare” (Bengali translation), “Rosona Samaghra”, “Zubeen Garg: Ek Aastito” (Hindi translation), “Ami Zubeen Bolchi” (Bengali translation), and “30 Dinot Xoloni Korok Apunar Jibon” — underline the increasing market demand for regional-language publications, motivational literature and personality-driven narratives in Northeast India’s publishing sector.

The event attracted prominent personalities including Manisha Hazarika, Surjya Kanta Hazarika, former Assam University Vice Chancellor Dilip Nath, Pragjyotishpur University Vice Chancellor Smriti Kumar Sinha, actor Kopil Bora and actress Nishita Goswami.

Speakers at the event emphasised the role of literature in strengthening intellectual capital and social awareness. Educationist P.S. Reddy described Dr. Kashyap’s publication of five books within a short span as a strong example of creative productivity and disciplined literary output.

The programme also included cultural performances, interactive discussions and a celebration of the author’s birthday, highlighting how literary events are increasingly evolving into multi-sector cultural platforms that contribute to the region’s creative economy.
