Classic Legends-owned motorcycle brands Yezdi and BSA Motorcycles on Thursday launched two new scrambler motorcycles in India, aiming to strengthen their presence in the growing premium motorcycling segment. The companies introduced the new Yezdi Scrambler 350 and the BSA Scrambler 650, positioning them as versatile motorcycles designed for city riding, highway touring and light off-road use.
Launched at an introductory price of Rs 1,99,950, the Yezdi Scrambler 350 is powered by a new 350cc liquid-cooled ‘Katar’ engine and is being positioned as India’s lightest scrambler at 174 kg. The motorcycle delivers 30 bhp and 30 Nm torque and comes in four colour variants including Legacy Black and Rally Blue. Meanwhile, the BSA Scrambler 650, priced from Rs 3,24,950, is powered by what the company claims is India’s only 650cc single-cylinder engine in the segment, producing 45 bhp and 55 Nm torque.
Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Classic Legends, described scramblers as the “SUVs of motorcycling”, saying the category combines urban practicality with off-road capability. Co-founder Boman Irani said the new Yezdi Scrambler expands the brand’s long association with scrambler motorcycles. The launches could strengthen demand in the premium motorcycle market, particularly in cities such as Kolkata where interest in lifestyle and touring motorcycles has been steadily rising among younger riders. Dealers in the Kolkata market are expected to see demand from customers seeking retro-styled motorcycles with modern performance and adventure-focused features. Both motorcycles will be backed by the company’s Ownership Assurance Programme, which includes a 4-year/50,000-km standard warranty and roadside assistance coverage.
