NSE Emerge surpasses Rs. 1 lakh crore mark, SMEs exhibit robust growth

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnesses a groundbreaking moment as the market capitalization of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) listed on the NSE Emerge platform crosses the Rs. 1,00,000 Crore mark. Since its inception in 2012, NSE’s SME platform has been a catalyst for the growth of 397 companies, raising over Rs. 7,800 Crores and contributing significantly to India’s economic landscape.The Nifty SME EMERGE Index, boasting 166 companies from 19 sectors, has shown an impressive Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 39.78% till November 2023, underscoring the resilience and growth potential of SMEs. Notably, 138 companies have successfully migrated to the NSE mainboard platform, reflecting the platform’s commitment to promoting higher quality enterprises and regulatory compliance.

Shri Sriram Krishnan, Chief Business Development Officer, NSE, highlighted the milestone, stating, “NSE Emerge listed companies crossing one lakh crore market capitalization is a significant achievement, showcasing the hidden potential of Indian MSMEs.”

This achievement not only emphasizes the success of NSE Emerge but also reinforces NSE’s dedication to fostering fundraising opportunities for emerging organizations, urging Indian MSMEs to explore alternative capital sources through the platform.
