Twenty-one candidates are contesting in the Pasighat Municipal Council elections across eight wards, primarily between the ruling BJP and the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA). The candidates include eight from BJP, eight from PPA, three from Congress (INC), and two Independents. Notable contests involve former PMC chairman Okiam Moyong Borang in Ward 2 against PPA’s Mem Tamut, with possible triangular contests anticipated in Wards 1, 5, and 6. The municipal election authority has established 12 polling stations for 12,373 registered voters, who will cast their votes on December 15. Intensive campaigns are underway as polling day approaches.
