At the Ministry of Home Affairs, a tripartite peace agreement is to be signed with tribal militant groups in Assam. MLA Akhil Gogoi Suspended from Assam Assembly

On Wednesday, MLA Akhil Gogoi was suspended by Biswajit Daimary, Assam Assembly Speaker. According to the information, the MLA was found disrupting the proceedings. Pipe bombs to target CRPF in Dantewada were found

On Tuesday, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personals recovered two powerful improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The explosive devices have been planted by Maoists, in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, according to the investigation. These explosives found are called pipe bombs. The IEDs were packed in iron pipes and weighed 10 kg each.  The suspecting was spotted on Monday while the team of the Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) 231st battalion was out on a road security operation. From the reports, the CRPF personnel stationed in Karaguda camp have recovered IEDs many times in this area.

India logged 5,221 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,45,00,580, while the active cases dipped to 47,176.The death toll climbed to 5,28,165 with 15 fatalities which includes four deaths.From the earlier reports, India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.
