Assam Doctor seeks help to cure snake bites

A doctor has developed a comprehensive care model to ensure zero patient deaths by 2024. he is a doctor at a rural health centre in Sivasagar. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1.38 lakh people die of snakebites worldwide every year, and 50,000 of them in India. Dr Surjit Giri, an anesthesiologist at the National Health Mission and Demo Rural Community Health Center (DRCHC), is trying to plug the loopholes in his model snakebite management system, with the help of the state government.

Ram temple, Ayodhya reaches completion soon

Bharat Jodo Yatra soon to begin in Assam

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh said that Assam will start its own India Jora Yatra from Dhubri to Sadia town from November 1. 31 stray dogs were tied in sacks found in Golaghat district

Assam police found 31 stray dogs tied in sacks on roadside of Golaghat district on September 16. The dogs were found smuggled with their legs and mouth tied. Police suspect, the traffickers might have dumped these dogs due to a glitch in their vehicle and fled. Further the investigation is underway.
