Assam Doctor seeks help to cure snake bites

A doctor has developed a comprehensive care model to ensure zero patient deaths by 2024. he is a doctor at a rural health centre in Sivasagar. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1.38 lakh people die of snakebites worldwide every year, and 50,000 of them in India. Dr Surjit Giri, an anesthesiologist at the National Health Mission and Demo Rural Community Health Center (DRCHC), is trying to plug the loopholes in his model snakebite management system, with the help of the state government.
