Active Covid cases in India decline

India saw a single day rise of 5,379 coronavirus infections, taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,44,72,241.Active Covid cases have declined to 50,594, while the death toll has climbed to 5,28,057 with 27 fatalities, including 11 deaths reconciled by Kerala.A decline of 1,742 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.According to the ministry, 213.91 crore doses of Covid vaccines have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.

Congress leaders from Assam wrote to the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) on Tuesday, urging it to investigate the demolition of a madrasa in Assam’s Bongaigaon area and ensure justice for its 224 students. Assam govt issues instructions to ensure basic facilities in rehab centers

Pijush Hazarika, minister for Social Justice and Empowerment in Assam, has instructed private rehabilitation centre owners in Assam to ensure basic facilities such as hygienic living conditions and regular medical check-up for the inmates within three months. He has also proposed skill training for reformed inmates from such centres at government expense. 236 new Covid cases in Delhi

Delhi on Saturday recorded three coronavirus-related deaths and 236 fresh cases with a reduced positivity rate of 1.68 per cent.The new cases came out of 14,023 tests conducted the previous day.Delhi on Friday logged two Covid-related deaths and 299 cases with a positivity rate of 2.17 per cent.With the fresh cases, Delhi's infection tally increased to 20,00,423.
