BJP leader shot dead in Rajasthan

A BJP leader was shot dead in Rajasthan's Bharatpur, police said on Monday.The assailants, who are yet to be identified, came on two bikes and as many cars, and opened fire at Kirpal Singh while he was going home from circuit house in his car, sources said.According to police, Singh was taken to state-run RBM Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.Police suspect the killing to be a result of gang rivalry.

Assam govt issues instructions to ensure basic facilities in rehab centers

Pijush Hazarika, minister for Social Justice and Empowerment in Assam, has instructed private rehabilitation centre owners in Assam to ensure basic facilities such as hygienic living conditions and regular medical check-up for the inmates within three months. He has also proposed skill training for reformed inmates from such centres at government expense. This came after Hazarika's last week visit to a private rehabilitation centre in Guwahati where he was disappointed by the conditions he witnessed. 236 new Covid cases in Delhi

Delhi on Saturday recorded three coronavirus-related deaths and 236 fresh cases with a reduced positivity rate of 1.68 per cent.The new cases came out of 14,023 tests conducted the previous day.Delhi on Friday logged two Covid-related deaths and 299 cases with a positivity rate of 2.17 per cent.With the fresh cases, Delhi's infection tally increased to 20,00,423. The death toll from the pandemic climbed to 26,477 in the national capital.

NIA searches 16 locations across 7 districts of Assam

In a major crackdown against the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Friday conducted searches at 16 locations of Assam in connection with the ULFA recruitment case and militant training in Myanmar.
