The Assam government has decided to close a total of 34 schools where all the 10th-class students have failed the 2022 HSLC examination. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has announced that these schools will be closed but students of these schools will be given the opportunity to enroll in other schools. The crackdown comes after one in a thousand students in state-run schools failed to clear the Class 10 board exams.
