Atul Sarma was forced to live in social isolation for 27 years and the ostracism continued even after his death. The incident took place in a village in North Assam's Darang district. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma on Friday ordered the dismissal of three senior police officials accused of negligence in the death of a 13-year-old girl in Darang district. The regional committees formed to look into the ongoing border dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will conclude a joint visit to the border area by the end of the month.
