Leopard attack three people in Rajasthan

Three persons were injured after a leopard attacked them in the Chandwaji area on Thrusday.According to the report, the incident occurred when the leopard entered the Motuka Bas dhani area and attacked the villagers who were asleep. The men injured critically are admitted to SMS government hospital in Jaipur, while the other two are being treated at another hospital.

Amarnath Yatra got suspended

The morning Amarnath Yatra was temporarily suspended from the Pahalgam and Baltal routes and no pilgrims were allowed to proceed towards the holy cave temple due to rains in the Kashmir Valley. Officials said the journey will resume once the weather improves. Earlier, the Yatra was closed for three days due to a cloudburst on July 8 that left 16 dead and over 30 missing. It was re-opened via Pahalgam route on Monday and Baltal route on Tuesday.

Odisha reports 743 new COVID-19 cases

Odisha recorded 743 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 12,95,328. The positivity rate rose from 3.48 percent to 4.03 percent as cases were detected among 18,442 samples. As of the report, 87 children were among those affected by the disease. "The government is keeping a close eye on positivity rates and deaths," Health Services Director Vijay Mohapatra told reporters. The official emphasized that cases are increasing slowly, but not as sharply as in previous waves.

Rupee drops against US dollar

The rupee depreciated by 3 paise to close at a record low of 79.62 (provisional) against the US currency on a firmer dollar in overseas markets and losses in domestic stock markets. Crude oil prices trading near USD 100 per barrel, however, supported the local unit, forex dealers said. The local unit opened stronger at 79.55 against the greenback but could not hold on to gains and slipped into negative territory in the interbank forex market. Fire in Janakpuri, Delhi building

Firefighters rescued four people after a fire broke out in an office in West Delhi's Janakpuri area, reports said. A fire broke out on the 11th floor of Kirti Shikhar Tower in Janakpuri near Janakpuri police station. A total of 11 fire tenders reached on the spot. The fire was brought under control and no injury was reported yet.

Delhi government launches mega plantation drive

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has launched mega plantation drive for 15 days to increase green cover in the Delhil. The 'Van Mahotsav', which started from the Central Ridge, will end on July 25 with the planting of one lakh saplings at the Asala Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary. In delhi Saplings and shrubs of around 35 lakh will be planted this year. Ex Punjab MLA surrenders himself in rape case

Lok Insaf Party chief and former MLA Simarjit Singh Bains has surrendered before the court in the rape case. Bain, 52, surrendered in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Horsimranjit Singh. From reports, the two-time MLA is the main accused in the rape case of an old woman of 44 years. On July 16, 2021, the case was registered against Bains with five others, including his 2 brothers, on the orders of a local court. Moderate rainfall in parts of Rajasthan

Most parts of Rajasthan received moderate rainfall and isolated places received heavy rainfall on Monday. Ninewa in Bundi district recorded 13 cm, followed by Dholpur (12 cm) and Laxmangarh in Sikar (10 cm). According to the report, various parts of Sirohi, Banswara, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Churu, Bikaner, and Jhunjhun districts received less than 10 cm of rain during this period.
