State wide ‘Gunotsav 2024’ beings in Assam

The state government is all set to assess students performances including school through 'Gunotsav 2024'. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said, the assessment is to get started by January 3 to February 8 of this year which will conduct an assessment for approximately 40 lakh students state wide. Ranoj Pegu said, "The exercise will be carried out at 43,498 government schools across 35 districts of the state, covering 39,63,542 students."

Diesel run bus services to get stopped in Assam

With the New Year spirit, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched 200 electric buses in the city, Guwahati. According to the sources, the aim of the government is to free the state from air pollution. Also the buses comes with facilities like GPS tracking, CCTV installed inside the bus for women safety. At least 14 died at Dergaon bus accident, Assam

A bus collided with a truck in Dergaon, Assam which carried 45 passengers, the incident took place on 3 January early hours. According to sources, amongst the 45 passengers, 14 people died and 27 others were injured. The incident took place on the way when the bus was heading towards Tilinga Mandir, Tinsukia where the truck came in contact with the bus. Police reported that the bus passengers were on their way to picnic and were about to reach their destination, a coal-laden truck coming from Margherita collided with the bus.

Centre, Assam and ULFA to sign peace accord

On Friday, Assam government has announced about signing peace accord with the United Liberation Front of Asom, ULFA in the presence of the centre. According to the sources, the government will sign tripartite peace accord with the ULFA, in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with the pro-talks of ULFA. Assam farmers exports 5K lemons and flat beans

A team of 16 farmers has successfully exported 500kg of lablab or flat beans to the New Spitalfields market in London, from where farmers’ fresh products go to various European countries. To reports, along with flat beans from Sivasagar, farmers of Tinsukia District have also dispatched 5,000 lemons which are known as Kaji Nemu in Assam. Dhingporiya Mustard FED Producer Company managing director Mantosh Saikia said, “Locals don’t buy lablab beans usually. There was no market for lablab beans. But our unemployed youths, who are from farmers’ families, have got a new export option now.”

Reliance Jio plans ‘Bharat GPT’ AI model for India

On Wednesday, during early hour’s magnitude of 3.4 jolts Assam’ Tezpur, to reports no casualty is reported caused by nature so far. Trinamool President to raise voice for seats in the Lok Sabha, Assam

Trinamool Congress has been eyeing four Lok Sabha seats in Assam. On Tuesday, Trinamool Congress Assam President Ripun Bora said that are going to demand the seats from the INDIA bloc. Assam woman burnt alive over witchcraft practice

A 30-years-old woman from Assam’s Sonitpur district was brutally attacked and then burnt to death by her neighbors over witchcraft practicing on Monday. According to the sources, the victim is identified as Sangita Kati who was burnt alive by the victims. To police statement seven of them are connected to the incident of which four are arrested. To reports, due to longstanding dispute between the neighbors over various issues, the victim got engaged in witchcraft. Further, search operation is underway to locate and arrest the accused one.
