Trinamool President to raise voice for seats in the Lok Sabha, Assam

Trinamool Congress has been eyeing four Lok Sabha seats in Assam. On Tuesday, Trinamool Congress Assam President Ripun Bora said that are going to demand the seats from the INDIA bloc. According to the sources, the party will be demanding seats for Dhubri, Lakhimpur, Kokrajhar and Karimganj Lok Sabha seats. The AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal is an MP in Dhubri while Lakhimpur and Karimganj Lok Sabha seats were won by the BJP in the last general election. However, a senior Congress leader said that they are unwilling to give four seats to the Trinamool Congress in the state.

Assam woman burnt alive over witchcraft practice

A 30-years-old woman from Assam’s Sonitpur district was brutally attacked and then burnt to death by her neighbors over witchcraft practicing on Monday. According to the sources, the victim is identified as Sangita Kati who was burnt alive by the victims. To police statement seven of them are connected to the incident of which four are arrested. To reports, due to longstanding dispute between the neighbors over various issues, the victim got engaged in witchcraft. Further, search operation is underway to locate and arrest the accused one.

Health ministry updates records of COVID-19 cases

On Tuesday, the health ministry has updated about fresh cases of COVID-19 which is increasing day by day. India has recorded 412 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the country; with this the surge of the cases has gone up to 4,170. According to the sources, India's Covid case tally currently stands at 4,50,09,660. And its death toll record stands at 5,33,337. Police arrests youth about to join ULFA-I, Assam

Three men suspected to be member of ULFA-I was injured by the police during a firing at Tinsukia district, Assam. Third unnatural death of rhino since September

Another unnatural death of rhino took place in Assam where a streak of tigers killed a sub-adult rhinoceros in Assam’s Orang National Park on Saturday night. Assam three MPs, 83 other candidates to go for Lok Sabha elections

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has recently shared a release of aspirants seeking tickets for Lok Sabha election to be held in Assam. According to the release, a total of 83 Congress members in Assam, including all three sitting MPs in the state, have sought party tickets. Assam Government has approved Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) guidelines to construct houses for the rural area people under the Mukhymantri Awas Yojana scheme. Rare fish valued Rs. 4.5 cr seized by Forest dept, Assam

At Dibrugarh Airport, Assam Forest Department seized around 500 ‘Channa Barca’ fish which is unique and endangered worth Rs. 4.5 crore which was smuggled to Kolkata. The Forest Department cited that, Channa Barca" are protected under Schedule 2 of the Wildlife Protection Act. Further, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the fish was classified as severely endangered in 2014 in Bangladesh.
