Crime detection rate highest in Goa

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday claimed that the crime detection rate in the state is high and no criminal is spared. Sawant was responding to a question from reporters on the recent alleged rape of a British woman near Arambol beach in the North Goa district. Sawant said the crime detection rate in Goa is "very high" and no criminal is allowed to go free. The chief minister also said that the accused in the case of raping the British woman was also immediately arrested and is currently in jail.

India logs 7,584 Covid cases

The number of COVID-19 cases in India rose by 7,584 in a day to 4,32,05,106 while the number of active cases rose to 36,267, according to Union Health Ministry updates. The death toll rose to 5,24,747 with 24 more deaths. The number of active cases has increased by 3,769 and now accounts for 0.08 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.70 percent, the health ministry said. The number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 4,26,44,092, while the death rate was recorded at 1.21 percent.

Missing minor girl found dead in forest

The body of a missing 17-year-old girl was found in the jungles of Jawahar Sagar Dam on Thursday. Jawahar Nagar DSP and CO Ankit Jain told PTI that her body was found fully clothed. Assam success rate in class 10 board exams dips down

The Board of Secondary Education Assam (BESA) announced the results of the Class 10 board exams on Tuesday, with 56.49 percent passing out of 4,05,582 candidates, officials said. The pass percentage among boys was 58.80 per cent, while among girls it was 54.49 per cent, they said. A total of 2,29,131 candidates have cleared the exam. Dhemaji had the highest pass percentage of 85.46, while Chirang recorded the lowest of 34.27 per cent. Additionally, before 2021, the pass percentage was 93.10.

UP boy kills mother for stopping him to play PUBG

A 16-year-old boy allegedly shot dead his mother after she was prevented from playing the online game PUBG. Police said they recovered her half-decomposed body on Tuesday night and sent it for post-mortem. The boy was arrested.
