RBI allows credit cards to be linked with UPI platform

The Reserve Bank on Wednesday allowed credit cards to be linked to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which will enable more people to make payments using the popular platform. "It is proposed to allow linking of credit cards to UPI," RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said while announcing the regulatory measures, including the bi-monthly policy review. India, Vietnam decide to expand defence & security ties

India and Vietnam signed a vision document to widen the scope and scale of bilateral defense cooperation when Defense Minister Rajnath Singh done "fruitful" talks with his Vietnamese counterpart General Phan Van Giang. COVID-19 cases in country rises to 26,976

India added 3,714 new coronavirus infections taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,85,049, while active cases rose to 26,976, according to the Union Health Ministry. According to reports, the death toll has reached 5,24,708 with seven new fatalities. An increase of 1,194 cases was recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. And the daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.21 percent while the weekly positivity rate was 0.97 percent. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 4,26,33,365.

2 arrested in Jharkhand’s Chatra along with their arms

Two persons were arrested with firearms and ammunition in Jharkhand's Chatra district. The arrest was made near the Morhar river in the Pratappur police station area while supplying arms to members of the banned Third Conference Preparatory Committee (TSPC). Family killed in road crash in Barmer

Eight members of a family were killed and one injured when a speeding SUV collided with a trailer in Rajasthan's Barmer district. The accident took place on Monday night when the SUV was transporting a wedding party from Jalore to Barmer. "Just eight km before the wedding venue, the speeding bolero collided with a trailer. Six people died on the spot and two succumbed to their injuries at the hospital," police said.
