President Kovind arrives in Lucknow

President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Lucknow with his wife on Sunday evening as part of his visit to Uttar Pradesh. He was welcomed by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Kovind garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Raj Bhavan square. He also wished Adityanath on his birthday.

Bengal logs 59 new COVID-19 cases

West Bengal's COVID-19 tally hiked to 20,19,633 on Sunday as 59 more people tested positive for the infection. The state's coronavirus death toll has risen to 21,205. Thirty-one covid cases and zero fatalities were reported on Saturday. The state now has 398 active cases, of which 25 are being treated in hospitals, while 19,98,030 people have recovered from the disease, including 36 in the last 24 hours.

Active COVID-19 cases in country rise to 21,177

India recorded over 4,000 new coronavirus infections in a single day, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday. After 84 days, the number of Covid-19 cases reached 4,31,68,585, while active cases rose to 21,177. According to the report, a total of 4,041 new cases were recorded in the span of 24 hours and the death toll reached 5,24,651 with 10 new deaths. Active cases comprised 0.05 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 percent. An increase of 1,668 cases of active COVID-19 was recorded.
