Active COVID-19 cases in country rise to 21,177

India recorded over 4,000 new coronavirus infections in a single day, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday. After 84 days, the number of Covid-19 cases reached 4,31,68,585, while active cases rose to 21,177. According to the report, a total of 4,041 new cases were recorded in the span of 24 hours and the death toll reached 5,24,651 with 10 new deaths. Active cases comprised 0.05 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 percent. An increase of 1,668 cases of active COVID-19 was recorded.

Man stabbed to death in Juhu

A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death during a clash in Mumbai's Juhu area. The incident took place at Ambe Mata Chal in Nehrunagar on Wednesday night and reports have identified the accused as Suraj Kanojia. “Accused Shekhar Nair (55) was arguing with Kanojia and her mother-in-law, when he pulled out a knife and attacked both of them. The BJP's total income in the 2021 financial year fell by nearly 80 percent to Rs 752 crore as contributions through electoral bonds fell from Rs 2,555 crore to Rs 22.38 crore.
