BJP’s income almost fell by 80%

The BJP's total income in the 2021 financial year fell by nearly 80 percent to Rs 752 crore as contributions through electoral bonds fell from Rs 2,555 crore to Rs 22.38 crore. Under the heading 'Election/General Campaign', the party has shown an expenditure of over Rs 421 crore. In the last financial year, the expenditure under the head was Rs.1352 crore. Sub-head money was spent on activities like an advertisement, helicopter and aircraft hire, hoarding and cut-outs, financial support to candidates and donations to others. Generally, contributions and expenses increase during Lok Sabha elections.

Fire breaks out at Delhi again

A fire broke out in north Delhi at the Bhalswa landfill site on Friday afternoon, officials said. Fire department officials said that the fire was reported at 1.52 pm, after which five fire tenders rushed to the spot. This year, three fires broke out at East Delhi's Gazipur landfill site, including one on March 28 that was finally doused after more than 50 hours.

Delhi’s air quality ‘very poor’

Delhi's air quality moved to the "very poor" category on Wednesday due to dusty air across the national capital. Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 322 at 4 pm. On Tuesday it was 215. Ladakh reports 3 fresh COVID-19 cases

Ladakh's COVID-19 caseload rose to 28,266 on Wednesday as three more people tested positive for the viral disease. The death toll remains unchanged at 228. 168 died from Leh and 60 from Kargil. In Ladakh active COVID-19 cases stands at seven. So far, 28,033 patients have recovered, the report said.

Light rain in Delhi, as mercury dips

The mercury dipped to 20.4 degrees Celsius in the national capital on Tuesday morning. The Meteorological Department has forecast light rain or drizzle with mostly cloudy skies later in the day. 7 dead in an ambulance crash

An incident took place in the Fatehganj West area when the ambulance driver lost control of the vehicle, which hit a divider and swerved to the other side of the road before hitting the truck, Bareilly Police said on Twitter. Seven people died on the spot. It is suspected that the ambulance driver may have fallen asleep which led to the accident. Police said that the identity of the deceased is not identified yet.

India records 2,338 Covid cases

According to the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 2,338 new Covid infections in a day taking its number of cases to 4,31,58,087 while the number of active cases stood at 17,883. The death toll rose to 5,24,630 with 19 more deaths due to the viral disease.
