Laborers injured on a chunk collapse

Five workers were injured after a part of an under-construction building collapsed in Pune's Wanwadi area on Monday afternoon, police said. The injured were rushed to the hospital, their treatment is undergoing. The incident took place around 3 pm in an under-construction building where a mosque for the Bohra community is planned.

Mizoram records new COVID-19 cases

Mizoram reported 83 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, 16 fewer than the previous day, taking the tally to 2,27,419, a health department official said. The death toll from COVID-19 remains at 696. The single-day positivity rate rose to 15.46 percent from 10 percent the previous day, as new cases were detected from 537 samples tested. Mizoram currently has 714 active COVID-19 cases, while 2,26,009 people have recovered from the infection so far.

New COVID-19 case in Puducherry

Puducherry on Saturday registered one new COVID-19 case, pushing the overall caseload to 1,65,789 while no new death was recorded in the last 24 hours. A new infection was detected after 118 samples were tested, Health Director G Sriramulu said in a release. No new deaths were reported in its four regions - Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam - in the last 24 hours and the toll remained at 1,962.

Two shot to dead over a dispute

A man and his nephew were shot dead and three others were seriously injured in a clash between two groups following a dispute over felling of a tree in Ahroda village under Jansath police station, police said. Two of the injured were also shot and admitted to the hospital. India records fresher covid-19 cases

India on Thursday reported 3,303 new COVID-19 cases taking its tally to 4,30,68,799, while active cases rose by 16,980, according to Union Health Ministry data. Daily cases crossed the 3,000-mark after 46 days. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 5,23,693 with 39 more deaths, data updated at 8 am said. Four arrested in drugs case in Bengal

Four persons were arrested in West Bengal's Siliguri and brown sugar worth Rs 2.1 crore was seized from them. Two residents of Murshidabad and Nadia districts in Porajhar under New Jalpaiguri police station area on Tuesday night, an official said.
