ULFA-I trio arrested linked to blasts in Assam

Recently, there was a blast in three places of Assam, Sivasagar, Tinsukia and Jorhat and ULFA-I have claimed the blasts. In connection to the blast, Assam Police has arrested three men from Guwahati on Tuesday. During a Cabinet meeting, presided by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has cleared the allowance for 2024-25 liquor sales at airports, metro and railway stations, and cruise ships. On Wednesday, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has accused the BJP government for allowing the sale of liquor, saying there is a "deep relation" between alcohol consumption and crime. The leader said that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should start selling liquor from its offices.

MPs suspension creates chaos in the parliament

The Indian Government has suspended 141 MPs from 11 different opposition parties who sit in the lower and upper houses of parliament till the end of the winter session which is to end on Friday. Meeting held for landscaping education in the state, Assam

In shaping the educational landscape of the state, Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has presided the second consultative committee meeting at Raj Bhavan. 1281 Madrasas in Assam under Assam govt converted to regular schools

The Assam government has decided to convert madrassas into Middle English (ME) schools which were functioning under the funds of the government. According to the sources, 1,281 madrassas which were located in Lower Assam Region and Barak Valley were converted into general schools of 21 districts of the region, Assam. The Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through X post said, Taking a step towards converting all government and provincialised Madrassas into regular schools, @SchoolEdnAssam has changed the names of 1,281 ME Madrasa into ME English.”

Explosion near Army Camp at Jorhat, no casualty

A mild blast was reported at an Army Camp of Lichubari in Assam’s Jorhat district and United Liberation Front of Asom (I) has claimed its responsibility for the blast, on Thursday. According to the reports, after grenade blast in Sivasagar and Tinsukia district this is the third time attack claimed by ULFA-I. Also the blast was mild and no casualty is reported.
