Supreme Court fixes timeline for COVID ex-gratia

The Union Health Ministry in a statement on Monday said that the Supreme Court gave its order dated March 24 in the Miscellaneous Application No. 1805 of 2021 in Writ Petition (C) No. 539 has fixed the timeline to claim their payment for ex-gratia assistance of Covid-19 deceased as announced by National Disaster Management Authority. An outer time limit of 60 days will be applicable from March 24 to file the claims for compensation in case the death occurred due to Covid1 prior to March 20, said the ministry. New COVID-19 cases in Ladakh

Ladakh reported three new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, overall infection tally to 28,232, officials said.There are only nine active cases in Ladakh at present, six in Leh district and three in Kargil district.According to the report, no death took place, and the death toll remains 228 168 in Leh and 60 in Kargil.The number of recoveries stands at 27,995.
