Assam witnesses decline in crime rate

National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has released a data of Assam which showed that the total number of cognizable crimes in Assam fell by 48.26 per cent to nearly 69, 000 cases in 2022 compared to the previous year. Speaking about the decline of crime rate in Assam, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma credited the strong policy of which helped in marking less crime rate starting from 20222. NCS shares details of earthquake magnitude, witnessed in Assam

On Thursday, Guwahati, Assam has witnessed earthquake measures 3.5 on the Richter scale, the tremors were felt in the region at 5:42 am. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that the epicenter was located at latitude of 26.63 and a longitude of 92.08, with the NCS indicating that the tremors occurred at a depth of 5 km. An operation was carried out in Manipur by Assam Rifles in collaboration with local police of the state to detect weapon smuggling since the violence hit on Monday.
