Early Tuesday, Junmoni Rabha woman Sub-Inspector, Assam Police life ended after her car collided with a Container truck in Nagaon district. A man collected rare northeast antique items for a museum

A private museum is inaugurated in Golaghat, Assam by a man from his 16 years collection of Northeast different tribe’s antique items. The museum is set up in the man’s native place at Borahi village in Golaghat district with rare collection of more than 2,000 antique items which includes traditional musical instruments, agricultural tools, coins of Ahom kingdom, and dresses of different tribes- communities of North East India. The man identified as, Pratul Bora, brother of Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, and the private museum is set up in memory of his grandfather, Juga Bora.

Manipur violence hit, Assam Rifles for rescue

On Monday, the Assam Rifles rescued 96 people in violence-hit Manipur near the India-Myanmar border in an air evacuation operation. According to sources, 70 people dead and 1,700 houses burnt down during Manipur violence hit. Security, medical, food, accommodation and telecommunication needs for interaction were given to the rescued people by the Assam Rifles during the stay. Additionally, Assam Rifles used Air Force MI 17 helicopters to rescue the needy people for Manipur violence.

Closing of madrassas to be continued in Assam

Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma is at Karimganj, while addressing a gathering he slammed All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief for madrassas in Assam. Assam Chief Minister slammed Asaduddin Owaisi chief of AIMIM, CM said by 2023 he will end 300 more madrassas in Assam. CM Sarma said, “We’re working to stop love jihad in Assam, and we’re also working towards closing down Madrassas in the state. After I became CM, I closed 600 Madrassas in Assam.” “I want to tell Owaisi that I will close 300 more Madrassas this year,” he added.

Investigation on food poisoning case, one died

On Friday, a report was circulated of a person who happened to die due to food poisoning in Goalpara district, Assam. Along with the death, 158 others fell ill which is also due to food poisoning in the same district. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Goalpara, Khanindra Choudhury submitted a report about the incident, that at least 158 persons were admitted to the hospital while one person died on Friday morning. “We are investigating if the person died due to food poisoning or due to other reasons. Assam Govt to preserve Assamese literary books and journals

To preserve Assamese literary treasures books and journals back from 19th century to get digitized in Assam through a project started by Assam government. This project is going to help people to know Assam and its contribution in the country.
