On Tuesday, Assam Government signed MoU with private companies for establishing mega industrial projects in parts of the state, Assam. Assam Chief Minister signed MoU worth Rs. 8201 crore with the companies which is to create more 6,000 jobs in the state. Assam Chief Minister twitted, “Our flourishing economy takes yet another stride on the eve of State Govt’s second anniversary. These efforts will bring investment worth Rs 8,200 cr and create 6,100 jobs. Many more in pipeline. Thank you all for reposing faith in Assam’s growth story.”

On Wednesday, The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (V&AC) wing of Assam Police caught another government official accepting bribe from a complainant and arrested the accused public servant. An assistant engineer of the Irrigation Department from Suklai Serfang Goreswar Division (Irrigation) of Baksa, Assam was arrested by the team of V&AC. According to the reports, the government official demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the complainant for issuing a work order after being awarded a contract in the Irrigation Division.
