Following violence in Manipur since past few days, more than 1,100 people Manipur's Jiribam district and surrounding areas have crossed the inter-state border to enter Assam's Cachar district. Meetings to be hold before signing any agreement says Nagaland government

Assam has decided to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nagaland for exploration of oil. But Nagaland has not yet decided to sign MoU with state. Assam top officer involved in extortion case

On Monday, Publisher of the braille version of Hemkosh, Assam's first etymological dictionary Jayanta Baruah receives Guinness World Records Certificate handed by Rishi Nath, the official adjudicator for the Guinness World Records. About the Guinness holder, Jayanta Baruah is the grandson of Hemchandra Baruah, eminent Assamese writer, who had first compiled the Hemkosh in the late 19th Century.
