Stellantis commits ₹4,000 crore to India, plans 12 Jeep and Citroën launches by 2029

Stellantis has announced fresh investments of approximately ₹4,000 crore over the next three years as it plans 12 product launches across Jeep and Citroën under its FaSTLAne 2030 strategy. The roadmap includes seven all-new products and five major upgrades, with the first launch scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.

The company’s planned portfolio will cover B, C and D SUV segments, an MPV, an A-segment car and a premium pickup. The investment will take Stellantis’ cumulative commitment to India to approximately ₹15,000 crore by 2030, from over ₹11,000 crore invested so far. The company is targeting 90% localisation across both brands and will offer internal combustion, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery-electric powertrains.

Stellantis India’s business grew 35% in the second quarter of calendar year 2026 compared with the previous quarter, while Citroën retail sales increased 68% year-on-year. The group operates manufacturing facilities in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, alongside engineering and software operations in Bengaluru. India also exports vehicles and components to international markets, with the company planning to expand its global sourcing and export role.

For Kolkata, the planned launches could create fresh opportunities in the SUV and passenger vehicle markets, where pricing, product positioning, dealership expansion and after-sales support will be key to attracting buyers. The availability of multiple powertrain options could also help Stellantis address varied customer requirements.

Stellantis said Jeep would focus on premium SUVs, while Citroën would target broader, higher-volume segments.
