Tawang prepares for sacred exposition of holy relics of shakyamuni buddha

A coordination meeting for the Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of Shakyamuni Buddha, scheduled in Tawang from October 31 to November 7, 2026, was held on Tuesday.

The meeting was chaired by Tawang Deputy Commissioner, Namgyal Angmo at the DC Conference Hall.

The meeting brought together ZPC Tawang Leki Gombu , SP Tawang Darang Tasi, senior district officials, representatives of monasteries and nunneries, Tawang Brigade, heads of offices and other stakeholders to deliberate on security, logistics, crowd management, cleanliness, publicity and coordinated preparations.

The sacred exposition, being held in Tawang after 2013, is expected to draw thousands of devotees and will coincide with the auspicious Lhabab Düchen.

The occasion seeks to spread Lord Buddha’s timeless message of peace, compassion and harmony to humanity.

In her address, the Tawang DC called for wholehearted cooperation from every department, institution and individual to ensure the smooth, safe and dignified conduct of the rare and blessed event.
