In a major anti-narcotics operation, Tripura Police on Monday seized 84 kilograms of dry cannabis from a forested stretch near Durlabnarayan village in Sepahijala district. The consignment, valued at around ₹8.5 lakh, was recovered by a patrol team from Sonamura Police Station during routine surveillance in the border-adjacent area. Police officers on duty spotted two large plastic drums hidden deep inside the vegetation. On inspection, the containers were found stuffed with dry ganja, believed to have been abandoned by smugglers operating along the international border.
