Four Police Personnel Arrested in Tripura Phensedyl Tampering Probe

Four Tripura Police personnel were arrested by the Crime Branch in connection with a Phensedyl seizure tampering case, sources said. All four accused, including Inspector Ajit Debbarma, SI Rajendra Reang, WSI Sampa Das and ASI Sachindra Debbarma, were produced before the Khowai District Court on Monday. The Crime Branch has sought five days police remand from the court for further investigation. The latest banking data presented at the 154th State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting in Tripura has shown strong overall credit expansion during the financial year 2025-26, but concerns continue to remain over weak lending performance in agriculture and priority sectors, especially by Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) and private banks. A stone-laden truck overturned nearly one kilometre before the CRPF camp in Dhalai district on Sunday, killing four persons on the spot and seriously injuring four others.
