The US has criticised the attack on the Indian Consulate in San Francisco that occurred during a protest by some pro-Khalistan individuals as “completely reprehensible,” and it has stated that it is dedicated to the safety and security of diplomatic facilities and the diplomats who serve within them. The demonstrators on Sunday tore down the temporary security barriers put up by the local police and placed two so-called Khalistan flags within the Consulate grounds while shouting pro-Khalistan slogans. Soon after, a group of incensed protestors stormed the consulate’s grounds and began bashing the windows and doors with iron bars.
