Assam government opened a 300-bed Covid-19 hospital with the help of DRDO

The Assam government on Thursday opened a 300-bed Covid-19 hospital at  Sarusajai Stadium stadium complex in Guwahati to combat the ongoing pandemic. Which is constructed in 20 days . The hospital was built with the help of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) with a cost of ₹21.46 cr.  The hospital has set up in an area of 3200 sq m and it has 200 beds in general ward with oxygen facility and 100 intensive care unit (ICU) beds. Assam Night Curfew: The Assam government has imposed night curfew in the entire state from 8 pm to 5 am to tide over Covid19 criris.

The state disaster management authority, in its order, said the curfew will be in place till May 1. Movement and gathering of individuals will not be allowed during the curfew period. All the essential services will, however, be exempted from restrictions. "The COVID-19 situation in Assam has been reviewed. It has been observed that there has been a rapid increase in the number of active cases of COVID-19 across the state.
