Delhi to witness dust storm, a relief from heat wave

For Delhi-NCR, the Met department has forecast dust storms from Monday and the maximum temperature will settle around 39 degrees Celsius. Apart from Delhi, thundershowers are also predicted in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and East Rajasthan which will bring down the temperature in these regions. "Barring parts of western Rajasthan and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, no heat wave will be seen in any part of the country during the next five days," senior IMD scientist RK Jenamani said.

50% passenger tax waived in J&K

The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday approved a 50 per cent rebate on passenger tax levied on various vehicles during the last fiscal year, a government spokesperson said. This was approved in a meeting of the Administrative Council chaired by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha. The decision will address the needs of commercial transport operators who have suffered losses due to the Covid-induced nationwide lockdown and restrictions, the spokesperson said.

Woman held for cheating people in Delhi

Police have arrested three people for cheating them on the pretext of offering them jobs in reputed companies based outside India, officials said on Monday. Sonam Kumari (25), Rahul Kumar (22) and Rajat Kumar (23) were part of a 'high-tech gang of fraudsters', they said. Laborers injured on a chunk collapse

Five workers were injured after a part of an under-construction building collapsed in Pune's Wanwadi area on Monday afternoon, police said.
