CROW conducts checking of illegal trade practices: Nagaland

Consumer Rights Organisation Wokha (CROW) accompanied by Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) and Lotha Youth Hoho conducted extensive checking at sand stockists within Wokha town on February 23, 2021. A press release by media cell, CROW stated that during the checking a total of 20 shovels were seized at sand stockists/sales in Wokha town. As many as 19 teachers of different government schools in Manipur were placed under suspension from their services in two days after they were found absent during education minister’s surprise inspections. State education minister S Rajen was on surprise inspections of government schools from Tuesday. Assam govt extends ‘disturbed area’ tag for 6 months from Feb 27

Ahead of state assembly polls, the Governor of Assam has declared the entire State of Assam as “Disturbed Area” upto 6 months beyond February 27, unless withdrawn earlier, reports The Sentinel Assam.  In an official statement issued by the state government it said, “As per powers conferred under Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, the Governor of Assam has declared the entire State of Assam as “Disturbed Area” upto 6 (six) months beyond 27/02/2021, unless withdrawn earlier”.
