PEC seminar on model solid waste management

Phevima Eco Club (PEC), a youth based initiative organised a seminar on “best practices on solid waste management” focused on zero waste at Kacharigaon Phevima village on January 26.  A press release by PEC stated that, the interactive seminar and demonstration were conducted by “Pro Rural”, a Dimapur based NGO, registered in 2009, which has collaborated with Dimapur Municipal Council on waste management practices in 38 colonies in Dimapur. EJNC demands arrest of Meghalaya’s minister brother for illegal coal mining

A civil society group on Thursday demanded the arrest of a Cabinet minister’s brother for allegedly carrying out illegal mining and holding him indirectly responsible for the death of six coal miners in East Jaintia Hills district recently. Teachers of government colleges in Manipur on Thursday staged a sit-in-protest to resume their suspended agitations demanding implementation of 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018.
