Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, has given a second lease of life to Mr. Akuminba, a 57-year-old man from Nagaland who survived a high-risk open-heart surgery. Battling severe health complications including Type 2 Diabetes, chronic hypertension, kidney failure requiring dialysis, and Acute Coronary Syndrome, Mr. Akuminba arrived in critical condition after a failed angioplasty. Following urgent dialysis initiated by Dr. Urmila Anandh, the patient was referred to Dr. Sameer Bhate, Head of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery, who led a complex triple-vessel Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) despite a dangerously low ejection fraction of 30–35% and diabetes-related vision loss.
