A traditional folktale of the Wancho tribe from the remote Patkai Hills in Arunachal Pradesh's Longding district is being brought to life as an animated short film, marking the first known adaptation of a Wancho oral narrative into animation. The project is currently being developed through a two-month production workshop at the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology (SMI) in Bengaluru. Two construction labourers lost their lives while three others were rescued after a mudslide trapped six workers at Lohitpur in Arunachal Pradesh's Tezu on Wednesday. According to the District Disaster Management Office (DDMO), the incident occurred at a construction site in Lohitpur, where six labourers were caught under debris following the mudslide. One worker managed to escape on his own immediately after the incident.
