ArcelorMittal on Monday announced three new renewable energy projects in India totalling 1GW of solar and wind capacity, doubling its existing renewable portfolio in the country to 2GW. With these additions, the company’s total global renewable energy capacity will rise to 3.3GW. The first project, a 36MW solar plant at Amaravati in Maharashtra, is scheduled for completion in H1 2027 and is expected to save 0.04 million tonnes of CO2 annually.
