Zunheboto DPDB discusses projects, COVID vaccination

Manipur Christian leaders urge govt not to demolish churches

All Manipur Christian Organization (AMCO) on Thursday appealed to the Manipur government to drop its plans of removing churches constructed at public places in and around Imphal. AMCO alleged that none of the Churches across the state were included when the Manipur government regularized 188 worshiping places constructed at public places. Addressing a press conference here, AMCO president Rev Prim Vaiphei said that as none of the churches were included in the list of the worshiping places, there were apprehensions of churches being removed in and around Imphal. Rajiv Kumar Bora appointed as new APSC Chairman

The State Government on Monday appointed retired IAS officer Rajiv Kumar Bora as the new Chairman of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), reports The Sentinel Assam. “In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 316 of the Constitution of India and Assam Public Service Commission Regulation 1951 as amended by the Governor of Assam is pleased to appoint Rajiv Kumar Bora, IAS (retd) as Chairman of the Assam Public Service Commission with effect from the date of taking overcharge,” said a government order issued on Monday .

China beetles infesting gooseberry plants in NE

Scientists have for the first time found evidence of China beetles infesting gooseberry or amla plants in Arunachal Pradesh and few other North Eastern states. According to The Tribune, the scientists also anticipated that these China beetles may spread to major litchi and gooseberry growing states like Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, if sufficient measures are not taken.
