Sedition case: HC extends relief to Kangana till Jan 25

The Bombay high court on Monday extended the interim relief of no coercive action against actor Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel until January 25 in connection with an FIR registered against them under sedition and other charges. The HC also directed the city police not to summon the duo for questioning till then. Schools, colleges reopen in Gujarat after over 9 months

Looking at the declining cases of coronavrus, the Gujarat government on Wednesday decided to reopen schools in the state from January 11. Issuing an order, Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said the students and teaching staff will have to follow the COVID guidelines strictly. The classes will also reopen for graduation and post-graduation final years with mandatory compliance of Covid-19 prevention standard operating procedures (SOPs) and consent of parents. The Centre in Unlock 5 guidelines allowed schools to reopen from October 15. However, the decision was left to states/union territories to decide as to when they would resume physical classes.…

Authorities know the names of the mothers of nine out of ten babies who perished in fire at a state-run hospital in Maharashtra's Bhandara district on early Saturday morning. One name is missing, as the child had been abandoned at birth. The new-born baby, a boy, had been found in the remote village of Kesalwada in Lakhanitehsil last week, a district official said.
