TMC Leader, Two Aides Murdered In West Bengal Town

A neighborhood Trinamool Congress chief and his two mates have been killed by using some men in a crowded place at Canning, around 50 km from Kolkata, this morning.Swapan Majhi, a member of the Gopalpur Gram Panchayat of the ruling party in West Bengal, was on his way to a rally around 9 am when the killers opened fire and attacked him with knives, police said. His two companions were also shot dead by the killers while escaping. The police said that the investigation is going on to gather detailed information.

196 COVID-19 cases registered in Assam

Assam recorded 196 new Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 7,25,677. As per reports, 196 coronavirus patients have been detected across the state. The National Health Minister said 74 new cases were reported from Kamrup Metropolitan District comprising Guwahati city, followed by 30 from Kamrup and 20 from Dibrugarh. No deaths due to infection have been recorded in the last 24 hours. A total of 7,16,733 Covid-19 patients have so far recovered from the disease and have been discharged from various hospitals and Covid care centres. Lighting strike kills 3 tribals in Madhya Pradesh

According to reports, three tribals were killed and many others injured after lightning struck a forest area in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district. The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when Ajanoy was going for a picnic near a river in the forest area. While they were busy fishing, there was sudden lightning. The deceased have been identified as Ram Bharat Adivasi (28), Dilip Adivasi (27) and Mukesh Adivasi (20), he said. Three others sustained severe burns and were admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

Assam cabinet passes indigenous status for five Muslim communities
