Flood death raises to25, 6.5 lakh

The flood situation in Assam eased slightly on Monday even as the death toll rose to 25 as one more person died and more than 6.5 lakh people were affected across 22 districts. More than 6,50,400 people have been affected by the floods in Barpeta, Cachar, Darrang, Jorhat, Kamrup, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup Metropolitan, Karbi Anglong West,Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Golaghat, Karimganj, La. . Five new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday taking its tally to 4,54,204. The death toll remained unchanged at 4,752. Of the new cases, three were reported from the Jammu division and two from the Union Territory of Kashmir. There are 58 active COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

Dead body of a woman and her two kids were found near a pond in Haryana's Rewari district on Monday. The incident happened in Kosli village. The corpse was identified as Sita Devi and her children Manisha (10) and Lakshya (9), they said.
