Active COVID-19 cases in country rise to 21,177

India recorded over 4,000 new coronavirus infections in a single day, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday. After 84 days, the number of Covid-19 cases reached 4,31,68,585, while active cases rose to 21,177. According to the report, a total of 4,041 new cases were recorded in the span of 24 hours and the death toll reached 5,24,651 with 10 new deaths. Active cases comprised 0.05 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 percent. An increase of 1,668 cases of active COVID-19 was recorded.

A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death during a clash in Mumbai's Juhu area. The BJP's total income in the 2021 financial year fell by nearly 80 percent to Rs 752 crore as contributions through electoral bonds fell from Rs 2,555 crore to Rs 22.38 crore. Under the heading 'Election/General Campaign', the party has shown an expenditure of over Rs 421 crore. In the last financial year, the expenditure under the head was Rs.1352 crore.
