A head constable posted at the Lucknow CBI office died in a car accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, police said. The head constable's wife and their three children were injured, they said. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Akhilesh Narayan said Sanjeev Yadav (50) of Etawar was returning from Mathura with his family when his car hit a divider on the expressway in Nasirpur police station area.

India records 3,545 new Covid cases with 27 deaths

India reported 3,545 new Covid infections in a single day taking the number of reported cases to 4,30,94,938 while the number of active cases fell to 19,688, according to a Union Health Ministry update. The death toll rose to 5,24,002 with 27 more deaths. Active cases comprised 0.05 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 percent, the health ministry said. According to it, the daily positivity rate was 0.76 percent and the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.79 percent. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has increased to 4,25,51,248.
