An expert team on immunization under the Union fitness ministry will decide whether to recommend the COVID-19 vaccine booster shot for all people above the age of 18, but scientists say the Center allows all willing adults to take an extra dose. No fresh COVID-19 cases in Puducherry

The union territory of Puducherry remained coronavirus-free for a ninth day as no fresh infections were reported in the last 24 hours. 278 samples were tested in the last 24 hours ending 10 AM Friday and no new cases were detected, Director of Health G Sriramulu said in a release.The overall case load remained at 1, 65,774 and the recoveries stood at 1, 63,812.The fatality and recovery rates remained 1.8 per cent and 98.82 per cent respectively.The death toll remained 1,962.
