Tata Motors Ltd. has partnered with Welspun Renewable Energy Private Limited (WREPL) to develop an 86 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project that will power four of the automobile major's manufacturing facilities, marking a significant step in its clean energy transition and net-zero ambitions. The project, backed by a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and co-investment, will supply renewable power to Tata Motors' commercial vehicle plants in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Karnataka. Turkish Airlines has announced the phased resumption of flights to several Middle East destinations as it continues restoring its regional network following a temporary suspension of services. The carrier resumed flights to Abu Dhabi on July 1 and will restart services to Dammam on July 10, Kuwait on July 11 and Bahrain on July 16. JSW Steel reported a 3 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated crude steel production for the first quarter of the financial year, reaching 6.59 million tonnes (MT). The growth came despite a prolonged shutdown of Blast Furnace 3 at the company’s Vijayanagar plant, which underwent a capacity upgrade and resumed hot-metal production only on June 23. The company said that excluding the impact of the shutdown, crude steel production recorded an impressive growth of nearly 15 per cent compared with the same period last year. Tata Motors began FY27 on a strong note, reporting a 27 per cent year-on-year increase in commercial vehicle sales to 1,08,488 units across domestic and international markets during the April-June quarter, supported by robust demand from infrastructure, mining, logistics and e-commerce sectors. The company said total commercial vehicle sales in June rose 35 per cent to 40,805 units from 30,238 units a year earlier.
