PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced the 'Muft Bijli Yojana' in an effort to bolster sustainable development and ensure the welfare of people by providing free electricity. The union government has allocated a budget of Rs 75,000 crores for the project which aims to provide access to light to every household by offering up to 300 units of free electricity every month.
