On Friday, Assam government has announced about signing peace accord with the United Liberation Front of Asom, ULFA in the presence of the centre. According to the sources, the government will sign tripartite peace accord with the ULFA, in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with the pro-talks of ULFA. Also to some reports it said, ULFA led by Paresh Baruah will not be part of the agreement as he has been consistently rejecting the olive branch offered by the government. Assam farmers exports 5K lemons and flat beans

A team of 16 farmers has successfully exported 500kg of lablab or flat beans to the New Spitalfields market in London, from where farmers’ fresh products go to various European countries. To reports, along with flat beans from Sivasagar, farmers of Tinsukia District have also dispatched 5,000 lemons which are known as Kaji Nemu in Assam. Dhingporiya Mustard FED Producer Company managing director Mantosh Saikia said, “Locals don’t buy lablab beans usually. There was no market for lablab beans. But our unemployed youths, who are from farmers’ families, have got a new export option now.”

The govt.  said there will be no restrictions on import of tur and urad dal till March 2025 as part of efforts to support domestic supply and keep prices under control.
