Drugs peddler in UP arrested worth 40 Lakh

On Saturday, a woman was arrested with drugs worth Rs 40 lakh in her possession. “A drug dealer named Sonam was arrested by our team on Friday night near a graveyard in the Dada Pir area. The police team recovered 395 grams of smack from her with an estimated value of Rs 40 lakh,” said Saharanpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Akash Tomar. This arrest was made in the ongoing operation against drug smugglers in the district.

Woman, daughter killed in road accident in UP

The accident took place in the Kotwali Sahaswan police station area when an allegedly speeding mini-truck rammed the bike from behind, killing Aarti (28) and her five-month-old daughter Pragya on the spot. The woman's husband, brother-in-law and son were seriously injured and admitted to the district hospital. According to Inspector Sanjeev Shukla, the victims were on their way to fetch some medicines when the incident took place near the cold storage located on Kachla Road around 8.30 am.
