16-year-old girl got raped

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped at gunpoint in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur. SP (city) Rajesh Kumar said the girl had gone to work with a woman in a farm on Thursday when a youth dragged her aside and raped her. Hearing his screams, the locals working in the nearby fields rushed to the spot. The girl reported the incident to her family members, after which a complaint was filed. Police are still looking for the youth, the report said.

4 killed, 20 injured as bus catches fire

Four people were killed and 20 injured when a passenger bus caught fire in Katra area of Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. According to officials, the bus caught fire near Nomai, about 3 km from Katra, on its way from Katra to Jammu. Jammu Zone Director General (ADG) Mukesh Singh said preliminary investigations did not indicate the use of any explosives. A forensic team is investigating the reason behind the fire.
